Improve your ADI success, reduce pupil faults, and build confidence and consistency in your instruction.
Ready To Pass Driver Training is proud to offer structured, professional training for trainee and qualified driving instructors — led by qualified Approved Driving Instructors and former DVSA driving test examiners. Our approach combines in-depth fault awareness with proven teaching techniques to help you improve pass rates, coaching skills, and confidence.
“We provide professional development and ongoing support for trainee and qualified Approved Driving Instructors.”
With decades of combined experience and over 30,000 driving tests conducted, we bring real examiner insight into every part of your training. Unlike many training providers, we focus on:
Understanding driving faults at the deepest level
Preventing faults rather than just spotting them
Teaching tailored, student-centered coaching
Aligning your skills with current DVSA standards
This unique combination helps you become a more effective, confident, and successful instructor.
If you’re feeling under pressure or unsure which way your results are heading, you’re not alone.
Since June 2024:
Dave has trained and taken 30 candidates to test standard — 29 passed first time.
Susie has trained 12 candidates to test standard — all 12 passed first time.
These results reflect our structured, fault-focused approach and strong emphasis on safe, confident driving.
The average pass rate for the ADI Part 2 test is 60%
The average pass rate for the ADI Part 3 test is just 33.5%
Dave & Susie are now very pleased to offer instructor training with a difference.
As qualified ADIs and former DVSA Driving Test Examiners, we provide a unique approach to instructor training that brings together both instructor expertise and examiner insight.
Ready To Pass has been running since June 2024, initially with just Dave. Susie joined the business in January 2025.
If you’re preparing for the Part 2 driving standard test, we’ll guide you through a fault-aware approach that builds your confidence behind the wheel and strengthens your understanding of what examiners are looking for.
We focus on safe, skilful driving that’s solidly beyond the minimum test standard.
Typical lessons:
Single (50 min)
1.5-hour
Double sessions
(Usually around 20 lessons required — individual progress varies.)
Our Part 3 training prepares you to become a confident instructor capable of:
Coaching pupils effectively
Preventing driving faults
Delivering DVSA-aligned lessons with clear structure
We also offer PDI (Potential Driving Instructor) support for those working toward full ADI status.
If you’re facing a DVSA standards check or seeing rising fault counts, we provide:
Detailed rolling data analysis
Personalised action plans
Practical coaching techniques
Ongoing support for sustained improvement
Our goal is not a quick fix — it’s lasting confidence and better pass outcomes.
Prospective ADIs preparing for Part 2
PDI instructors aiming for Part 3
Qualified ADIs looking to improve pass rates
Instructors preparing for standards checks
Wherever you are in your career, we can tailor your development to suit your needs.
By training with us you will:
Understand faults the way examiners do
Spot and correct pupil faults earlier
Improve lesson consistency and pupil progress
Boost your confidence in coaching and assessment
Build stronger pass rates across your pupils
These benefits result in safer drivers and more confident instructors.
Whether you’re just starting or looking to improve your results, we’d be pleased to discuss your goals and how we can support you.

Ongoing, personalised support for the equivalent cost of an average local lesson per month.
As Approved Driving Instructors ourselves, we understand what it takes to earn your green badge — and the pressure that comes with maintaining consistent results over time.
We also know how quickly confidence can be knocked when performance starts to slip. Rising fault counts, falling pass rates, and increasing examiner interventions can soon make the prospect of a DVSA Standards Check feel very real.
The key is recognising the signs early and taking action.
You may be selected for an early DVSA Standards Check if your rolling 12-month results meet three or more of the following criteria:
Average driving faults: 6 or higher
Average serious faults: 0.55 or higher
Examiner physical intervention: 10% or higher
Driving test pass rate: 55% or lower
Only you will truly know whether your results are moving in the wrong direction. If they are, it’s completely natural to feel concerned — but ignoring the problem rarely improves it.
Early, structured support makes a real difference.
We work with you one-to-one to improve both results and confidence, focusing on long-term consistency rather than quick fixes.
Our support includes:
Detailed analysis of your rolling test data
A clear, personalised action plan
Identification of the specific faults affecting your outcomes
Practical strategies to reduce driving faults, serious faults, and examiner interventions
Ongoing guidance to steadily improve your pass rate
As improvements begin, we continue working with you to maintain momentum — helping you achieve a genuine turnaround, not just short-term improvement.
Three structured one-to-one sessions spread across 12 months
Ongoing professional guidance and support throughout the year
A calm, confidential environment to review performance honestly and constructively
This approach allows time for reflection, adjustment, and sustainable improvement.
*“There has definitely been a great improvement — many thanks. I’m much more mindful of my coaching techniques and adapting them to each pupil’s needs. I’m more relaxed and patient, and my pass rate has improved.
I still need to improve further, but I’m heading in the right direction. Our last conversation was extremely useful — you’re really onto something here.”*
Who is this training suitable for?
Our training is suitable for trainee ADIs preparing for Part 2 or Part 3, newly qualified instructors, and experienced ADIs who want to improve consistency, reduce faults, or prepare for a DVSA Standards Check.
Is this support only for instructors already facing a Standards Check?
No. Many instructors work with us before results reach that point. Early support is often the most effective way to improve outcomes and reduce the likelihood of a Standards Check being triggered.
Do you focus on teaching to the test?
No. Our approach focuses on understanding driving faults, improving coaching techniques, and building consistent standards. This naturally improves test outcomes without resorting to shortcuts or test-specific tricks.
Is the support tailored or a fixed programme?
All support is tailored. We work one-to-one, using your own results, experiences, and concerns to create a clear, practical plan that suits your situation.
Is the support confidential?
Yes. All discussions, data reviews, and sessions are handled professionally and confidentially. Our role is to support improvement, not to judge past performance.
If you’re worried about your results or the possibility of a Standards Check, we’re happy to talk.
