Ready To Pass Driver Training is owned and run by Dave and Susie, both qualified Approved Driving Instructors and former DVSA driving test examiners.
Between them, they’ve spent decades assessing driving standards, identifying faults, and seeing first-hand why learners pass — and why they fail. That experience now sits at the heart of everything we do.

Our team includes former DVSA driving test examiners and experienced Approved Driving Instructors, bringing real assessment insight and local knowledge to every lesson.

His enthusiasm, reassurance, and calm approach help learners feel relaxed, confident, and ready to succeed.
Dave brings decades of experience in road safety, driver development, and assessment. Before becoming an Approved Driving Instructor, he served for many years as a police officer specialising in traffic and road safety, qualifying as a Class 1 advanced car driver and advanced motorcyclist.
Following his police career, Dave trained as an Approved Driving Instructor and later became a DVSA driving test examiner, conducting thousands of driving tests across the Wirral. This role gave him an in-depth understanding of how driving standards are assessed and why learners pass — or fail — on the day.
Dave’s teaching style is calm, structured, and methodical. He focuses strongly on fault awareness, decision-making, and consistency, helping learners understand why something matters rather than simply what to do.
His aim is not just to help learners pass their test, but to produce safe, confident drivers who are well prepared for real-world driving long after the test is over.

Susie is an exceptional driving instructor whose coaching skills have been shaped by a diverse and highly accomplished career.
Susie is a qualified Approved Driving Instructor and former DVSA driving test examiner, with extensive experience assessing learners at local Wirral test centres.
She is particularly well known for her calm, patient approach and her ability to put nervous or anxious learners at ease. Susie understands that confidence plays a huge part in driving performance, and her lessons are designed to build that confidence steadily and naturally.
As a former examiner, Susie has a clear understanding of modern test standards and common driving faults. She uses this insight to help learners recognise issues early, correct them properly, and approach their test feeling prepared rather than pressured.
Susie specialises in automatic driving lessons and is especially effective with learners who have previously struggled, lack confidence, or simply want a supportive, structured learning environment.

Mark brings a rich and varied background to his role, shaped by a lifetime of leadership, coaching, and helping others succeed.
Before moving to the UK, Mark lived in South Africa, where he built a distinguished career in broadcasting. He helped create and develop radio stations, ultimately earning a place in the South African Radio Hall of Fame.
One of his proudest achievements was transforming a classical music radio station in Cape Town into a financially successful and vibrant broadcaster.
Mark’s life has been full of adventure too — including co-skippering a yacht and winning multiple ocean races. But throughout these experiences, one passion has remained constant: coaching.
As a long-time Scouts South Africa volunteer, Mark has spent many years teaching young people to sail both dinghies and keelboats. This foundation in youth development shapes his approach behind the wheel today.
Mark is an experienced manual driving instructor who shares the same high standards and learner-focused approach as the rest of the team.
He provides clear, professional tuition tailored to each learner’s needs, helping them build safe driving habits, confidence, and consistency. Mark’s teaching complements our examiner-led approach and ensures learners receive the same structured, calm instruction across the school.
